To say that Where’s My Water was a huge hit is an understatement. Swampy the main character from the game is on his way to becoming a bit of an icon. He even has his own animated series as well as a ton of merchandise as well. Last year we were of course treated to Where’s My Perry a fun take on Where’s My Water, but using Perry the Platypus (or Agent P if you prefer) from Disney’s hit show Phineas and Ferb. Well now Swampy and Perry have teamed up in this sure to be huge hit Where’s My Holiday.
Whether or not you like Disney video games one thing that I think every gamer has to agree is that Disney make fantastic looking video games. This has been true even in the days of the 8-bit video game systems. It seems like no mater who has the Disney license they make sure that the games look great. And Where’s My Holiday is no different. It looks very polished indeed. Now there is no huge graphical leap over Where’s My Water or Where’s My Perry, but the game does still look great.
Now let me get this out of the way right away. If you did not enjoy Where’s My Water and Where’s My Perry then you will not enjoy this game. It is pretty much the exact same thing that we have played before. Still if you are a fan of the aforementioned games then there is some real fun to be had here.
I was a little disappointed at first as I thought this game was going to combine both Perry and Swampy in the same game. I know from personal experience that my son was a little disappointed with this also. Instead the game is split into two different sections. Swampy and Perry and the two have zero interaction with each other.
So you will pick either Swampy or Perry and then the fun begins. The Swampy levels are easier. As all you need to really do is use your finger to dig tunnels in dirt so that Swampy can have a bath. The Perry levels use more puzzle elements to them and will require you to think a little harder. I know that my kids had a tougher time playing the Where’s My Perry game than Where’s My Water. Still I am not saying the Perry levels are to difficult for kids just more challenging.
This is a game that is clearly aimed at fans of Where’s My Water and Where’s My Perry. There is not as many levels in this game as there is in the others, but at the end of the day this is a free game. And it is certainly a free game that I feel should be on everyone’s iOS device. Does it offer anything new? Well no it does not, but it does offer you some fun and at the end of the day that is all that maters. And Swampy and Perry both have this wonderful charm that is very hard for anyone to resist. If you have kids that like to play on your iOS device then this is a must download.
