Have you ever been in a situation where a person is talking way too much and you need a way to quiet them? SpeechZapper is the solution. This handy app takes advantage of a psychological loophole in the human psyche. By playing back someone speaking a fraction of a second later will cause him or her to stop talking. This is the same technique used to help people stop stuttering as well. This app has been ranked number one in entertainment in Canada, Finland, Iceland, Sweden and the US. I have a few friends that I hang out that this would be perfect for.
This app is easy to use. Simply open the app and click the start button. This app will start recording the environment and then start playing back the audio at a fraction of a second delay. By hearing your own voice on a short delay of you speaking forced the person to stop talking. You can adjust the delay at which the audio starts to play back. This app even comes with a tutorial, which shows you how to use the app. It would be nice if you could just turn off the tutorial. The app suggests the use of a unidirectional microphone and/or headphones. I noticed a little bit of feedback when I tried this. Not sure if this a bug or feature. It seems like there should be a better way then to just carry around headphones and a unidirectional microphone with you at all times. The reviews for this app are glowing. One of the reviewers suggested that you use a higher delay to confuse your target. I would highly recommend this app if you have someone in your social circle who can’t get the hint that they should be quiet. Currently this app is on sale for $0.99 at time of writing. I personally don’t think it’s worth more than a dollar.
