A new, fully charged battery should last between eight and twelve hours depending on what type of iPod Touch you have and how you use it. You can extend this amount of time by using the following tips: Reduce the iPod’s screen brightness to the lowest setting that is still comfortable for your eyes by choosing Settings>Brightness & Wallpaper.
-
Only use Wi-Fi when you need it, otherwise keep it turned off by choosing Settings>Wi-Fi.
-
Avoid using Location Services when you don’t need them by choosing Privacy>Location Services.
-
Manually check your email instead of using Data Push. You can turn this off by choosing Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>Fetch New Data and making sure it is turned off.
-
Set your auto-lock to one or two minutes so it will go to sleep and save battery life faster. To do this, choose Settings>General>Auto-Lock and tap on your preference.
-
If you don’t need the equalizer, don’t use it. Some people really love the higher quality sound, but if you don’t notice it that much, you really don’t need it. To turn it off choose Settings>Music>EQ.
If you have done everything you can to prolong your battery life and still aren’t satisfied with its performance, you can buy an extended life battery.
