I think that violence gets a raw deal in video games. I mean after all its such an easy target for politicians who are trying to secure a few more votes to go for. But some times you get a game that is really violent and full to the brim of blood, but it also makes you smile. And that is what we have here with Clear Vision from FDG Entertainment.
Clear Vision to me looks very much like a flash game. But with that comes a charm that makes this game more amusing than anything else. This I guess if you were to tell someone what the game is about would be classed as a very violent game. But the art style and over the top gore makes it more funny than disturbing.
The story here made me laugh you play the role of a man called Tyler. Tyler has been working as a cleaner at a supermarket. One day he gets fired. Now times are tough and the economy is not getting any better any time soon. So Tyler takes a job as a hetman to make ends meet. This is a great little story that is told through some really funny cut scenes that are made using stick figures.
So what kind of game exactly is Clear Vision I hear you ask. Well I have heard many people call this a sniper game. And at the end of the day that is your main objective to take out your target with your sniper rifle. But I think that is doing the game a disservice. As there are other things you will need to do. Like find clues and your target. In some ways I think this game feels very much like an old school adventure game.
AS the main part of the game is killing your target you may think its a case of aim, shoot and kill. But there is more than that. You see sometimes you will be required to make the kill look like an accident. These jobs require you to use a remote control detonator instead of your trusty sniper rifle. It may not sound like much, but it adds a great deal of variety of the game and helps keep things fresh. One thing that I loved was the way you can look in the local paper to see how well you are doing and how scared the town is.
I loved Clear Vision as both a game and a story, but I know this is not a game for everyone. If you are easily offended then this game is not for you. And if you have kids who use your iOS device you will probably want to delete it before they next play on your device. In all though this is a very fun game and I certainly hope that there will be more content added sooner rather than later.
