Heads Up is a game created by Warner Bros. It costs $.99 and is available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Objective:
Heads Up is an app created in honor of the game that Ellen DeGeneres plays on her show. This app lets you play a guessing game similar to charades with your friends.
There are over 18 decks to choose from which include celebrities, movies, animals, accents, characters, and much more. Once you choose a deck you simply hold your phone over your forehead. Then have your friends act out (but not speak) hints about the name that’s on your phone. When your friends tell you that you’ve guessed correctly, just tilt your phone down to get a new card.
The objective is to get as many guesses right in a minute. If a card is too hard to act out or you want to skip it, just tilt the phone up to pass it.
The other feature of Heads Up is that it records your friends using the front-facing camera. That means you can capture them doing all crazy sorts of things to act out the word on your phone. After you’ve finished playing you can even share the video with friends or save it.
The Good:
Heads Up is a really fun game with tons of decks to choose from. The decks are full of crazy things for your friends to act out, and you even get to record them.
The Bad:
It would be nice if you could add your own decks made up of your own cards. You can buy extra decks in the app for $.99 a pop. It would make more sense to just let you add your own cards.
Conclusion:
If you need an app to have fun with friends, then this is it. Although you won’t use this game every day or week, it’s definitely worth owning.
