Before you sync your iPod to your computer, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. This is important because you need iTunes 10.5 or later and iOS 5 or later to successfully sync.
Syncing via USB

Make sure iTunes is open on your computer.

Connect your iPod to your computer and click the device button. If you don’t see the device button in the upper right hand corner of iTunes, click on Library and you will see it there.

Click Apply. You will find that in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Sync via Wi-Fi

Follow the same instructions above.

After you’ve clicked on the device button, click on Summary.

Choose “Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi”.
Manually Sync IPod to Computer

Make sure iTunes is open on your computer.

Connect iPod to computer.

Click device button in upper right hand corner, or click on Library and choose your iPod from that point.

Choose “Summary”.

Select “Manually manage music and videos” or “Manually manage music.”

Click on Apply after your chosen which manual syncing options you want.
Syncing with iCloud

You can also manage your iPod using iCloud.

Go to your Home screen, select “iCloud” and enter your Apple ID.

Set your iCloud account up on your computer or other Apple devices so you can access it at anytime from any internet capable device.
