iTunes Genius is designed to help you find your favorite types of music quickly and easily and it also helps you generate playlists from their libraries. If you want to set iTunes Genius up on your iPod, start by making sure you have the latest version of iTunes. When you have updated iTunes, if you need to, then click on the store menu at the top of the page and select “Turn on Genius”.
After you have turned on iTunes Genius on your computer, sign into your Apple ID and agree to the terms and conditions of service. At that point you’ll see a screen that has the first three steps to setup iTunes Genius for your iPod. The first step is that the Genius will gather information by scanning your iTunes library. The next step is sending that information to Apple to store in a database.
After the first two steps of the iTunes Genius setup is complete, Genius will deliver the results it gathered including music that other people with similar tastes have downloaded, and suggested music for you to buy based on what is similar what you all ready own. From the first through the third step, it takes about twenty minutes depending on how many songs you have in your library. Then you can begin to use Genius to create new playlists or find new music.
