Right off the bat let me tell you why this app brought a big goofy smile to my face. When I was kid I used to get these I think they were called travel packs based on various licenses. Where you would get a colouring book, a little board game with terribly flimsy cardboard playing pieces, some crayons and some other goodies. I vividly remember having a Spider-Man one back in the (revealing my age now) early 80’s. And to me this App is very much like a digital version of that.
Let me say right now this is not a video game (well it does have a mini game). It is more an interactive story. It looks great everything is nice and bold. And what I think is the most important part of the visuals for an App like this is the text. It is nice and big and bold. In all from a presentational point of view it is really hard to fault this game.
So what exactly does this App have? Well it tells a story one that you will need to interact with. For example you may need to swipe Iron Man’s boots to move him. Or press something on a specific page. As well as this you need to keep your eyes open for the hidden parts of Iron Man suit. If you find them all you can build an extra special Iron Man suit.
As well as the interactive story book there is some other fun things that you can do. There is a mini game where you play as Iron Man and need to fend of attacks from the evil Mandarin. It has three different difficulty levels for gamers of all skill levels. One really cool thing that I got a kick out of was the way that there was also three different Iron Man costumes for you to chose from. For being a mini game it actually is a ton of fun. There is also a fun colouring book for you to play with as well. One really amazing thing is that the story has narration from comic book legend Stan Lee.
In all I cannot recommend this App enough my son loved it and has already asked if there are more. And from what I understand many of Marvels biggest super Heroes Captain American, Spider-Man and The Hulk to name a few will have there own interactive adventures like this. While it may not have the greatest replay value in the world. This is still an essential App purchase for those of you who want your kids to maybe be learning something while they are playing as well.
