I am pretty sure that the majority of us at some point on our working life have had that one horrible boss who we would all have loved to give a big kick in the butt. Well Kick The Boss 2 is a game that will let millions of us live out that fantasy. This is the sequel to the phenomenally popular Kick The Boss that as of writing has over 16 million downloads.
I love the way that this game looks. When I first fired it up the first thing that came into my head was that it looked very much like South Park. I am sure that this is intentional. Your horrible boss looks great and he has that stereotypical look of what I imagine a boss of some place to look like. As well as the boss looking great. A great deal of time and care was taken in making the various environments look great as well. There are many nice little details and some great background art. In all Kick The Boss 2 is a very nice looking game.
The game play may be on the simple side, but it is very satisfying. The first level of the game for example will see you in a classroom. The boss here is not really that much of a tyrant and you can put him in his place very easily. You can swipe to throw the boss around the room which is more fun in practice than it sounds. As well as this you can throw various things at the boss.
By beating up your boss and doing it well you will be rewarded with coins. These coins are what you need to use to buy the various projectiles to throw at your boss. As you progress trough the game you can unlock guns and even petrol bombs to throw at your boss. One thing that really took me by surprise was the destructible environments. Not everything can be destroyed in a level, but the amount that can is really quite amazing.
In all there are seven different stages for you to play through each with there own horrible boss for you to put into his place. The thing is once you have played the first stage the game is really pretty much the same all the way through. This is not a bad thing, but it certainly makes Kick The Boss 2 one of those games that is more suited to quick five to ten minute plays than hour long gaming sessions.
This is certainly worth a download just do not expect to much out of it in terms of game play. You can tell a great deal of of love has gone into this game as it looks great. As well the humour in the game may not be for everyone. But still if you are someone who has a boss who is not very nice this is a great way to release a bit of stress after a hard days work.
