Temple Run for me was a very weird game in that I had heard it was really cool, but for some reason I never got round to downloading it. It was actually my daughter who got me to download it as apparently all her friends were playing. I downloaded Temple Run and I saw that she seemed to really enjoy it. So I thought that I must be missing out on something here so I gave it a try myself and I was very impressed.
When I first played the game I was really surprised that my daughter even liked it normally she is all about Disney Princess and stuff like that, but this game could easily be mistaken for a Indiana Jones video game. The game looks pretty darn good, but this is one of those games that moves along so fast that you will never really have a chance to check it out. I noticed how good it looked while I was watching my daughter play it. You have to give a load of credit for the developer for making such a great looking game. When truth be told they really could have half assed this game and because it moves so fast not that many people would have cared.
The idea of Temple Run is that you play as a guy who has taken, stolen, found or whatever some kind of treasure in a temple and now he needs to run away. Why does he need to run away? Well what ever the heck it was that he took from the temple must be really valuable to the evil monsters who are hot on your tail and ready to rip you apart to take it back.
The game play of Temple Run is very simple you are always moving forward at a fast pace, but you need to use your reflexes in order to make jumps, avoid trees, make turns and avoid falling off the track. You also need to collect coins as well. I mean after all you have already stolen something valuable from the temple so why stop there? These coins are actually really important as they will enable you to buy stuff in the game store. You can unlock some new characters here which is pretty fun. You can also get some power ups like a magnet that will make the coins come to you.
One thing that I really liked was the way that the game doe snot really try and force you to buy the coins in the game store with real money. Of course this is an option, but it is one that the game never goes out of its way to tell you about at every loading screen or in between games.
Temple Run is a very addictive game that made me say I will play just one more game many times. It is very simple, but in that simplicity is the charm of the game. I actually got really into trying to beat all my buddies high scores. If you have not already downloaded this game then what are you waiting for?
