Nissan hasn’t announced that it will start using Ultra-Ever Dry paint on their vehicles yet, but it’s been toying around with the idea.
Ultra-Ever Dry is a solution that is available to consumers which repels water on anything that it’s applied to. This solution wears off after friction and use though.
It’s possible that Nissan has advanced the solution to make it more permanent or at least strong enough to to make it stick to cars. It’s not clear when this technology will hit the consumer market but it wouldn’t be crazy to expect it within the next ten years. If cars won’t come with this paint already applied it’s possible that Ultra-Ever Dry will be sold as a protectant which you can apply to your car.
